Apple Snags Another Trademark |
Apple snags another trademark and this time from an unsuspecting company - Harley-Davidson. They patented "There's an App for that" in 2010 and recently was in negotiation for the word "lightening." Apple wasn't greedy and actually offered to limit the patent to certain products. Harley Davidson can use the word "lightening" in their clothes and footwear lines, while Apple can use it on a limited number of products.
Apple began referring to its new connector that is used on the new iPod Touch and both iPad Mini and the full size iPad and as "lightening."

Apple's Lightening Connector |
Apple and Harley Davidson restricted Apple's use of "lightening" to products that include:
- audio and video equipment
- television sets
- telephones
- recorded computer software
- pinball machines
- eyeglasses
See that last on! Could Apple be preparing to develop a product that would be new competition for Google Glasses with the new lightening connector? Let us know!
