Shopping Zen |
From personal experience, grocery shopping is a weekly ritual, but it is inevitable that every week, I forget something – and of course I realize it when I get all the way home! But after looking online for quick recipes, I came across an app that has saved my little grocery shopping life!
Of course, as college seniors at Your Mobile Life, we truly understand the meaning of broke. We really try to suggest and offer reviews on free applications that any iPhone or Android user can use. So once again, I was incredibly relieved to find that this awesome app was available for free!
So, what’s the name of this life saving app? It’s called ZipList. Here are a few reasons that I love this new app. You can…
- Manage your lists on your mobile phone or your home computer.
- Sort your lists by Produce, Dairy, Baking, etc. – so you’re not wandering around the store because you forgot something.
- Search recipes and add the ingredients directly to your “shopping list.”
- Save recipes to your “recipe box,” so you can find them later.
- Download “checklists” for everything from a family camping trip to just the basic weekly necessities – so you won’t forget the essentials.
- Share your shopping list and/or recipes with family or friends.
- Set your home store (i.e. Top Foods, QFC, Sam’s Club, Safeway, Costco…) and ZipList will offer you coupons in the stores near you!
Obviously these are a ton of really great benefits – no more writing down recipes, making a list of ingredients for your shopping list, trying to dig through the paper to save a buck. ZipList lets you download the recipes, so you can print them off or simply have them right on your mobile phone. It also allows you to add the recipe to your “recipe box” and the ingredients to your weekly shopping list – then gives you coupons! Overall, this app is wonderful and definitely worth a shot – and it’s free.
