The Facebook App

Facebook has revamped its mobile app.
Facebook is revamping its mobile app in an effort to make checking in on your friends faster. In response to criticism about its app's slow loading time, the tech company is overhauling the iOS app for iPhones and iPads. Beginning Thursday, users can upgrade to the new app on the Apple platform.

Facebook has invested a significant amount of time and claims a trio of improvements including opening the app, scrolling the newsfeed and opening photos. A ripple effect occurs when you "Like" a post and status updates, check-ins, comments and maps appear in real-time.

Users can download the updated app this Thursday.
Although Facebook is criticized for selling space to advertisers, the company prides itself with a "users first" mentality. This attitude helped Facebook surpass 1 million fans. The pressure to perform on Wall Street is pushing Facebook to improve its business model. With 543 million monthly mobile users, Facebook is brainstorming how to derive a profit from this crowd. The future of technology will be on a mobile interface. Facebook is positioning itself to capitalize off of monetizing this trend.

Facebook's campus culture is not disheartened from the high expectations of financial analysts. Walls with markers are waiting to be coded with hacker scribbles and vending machines are stocked with keyboards, power chargers, and any other device a techie desires. Facebook engineers are discouraged from speaking anything related to the current economics of the company. Zuckerberg is adamant in assuring his team of 3,000 employees that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Facebook may be down right now, but don't count this company out for the fight on mobile and social platforms.

I have one question for you, do you Like the Facebook mobile app? Share your opinion on our Facebook page.
